2016 Conference
The aim of the conference was to review and discuss research, education and treatment in relation to minimising gambling-related harm in Great Britain.
GambleAware's 4th annual Harm Minimisation Conference was held on 7th and 8th of December 2016, at the King's Fund, London. Read a report on the Conference here. Conference presentations and PhD poster presentations are below.
The aim of the conference was to review and discuss research, education and treatment in relation to minimising gambling-related harm in Great Britain. GambleAware conferences have been instrumental in shaping the direction of research and policy development, as well as informing industry practice in relation to promoting player protection and responsible gambling behaviour. This year, the conference was also an opportunity to review and discuss best practice in treatment and harm minimisation.
Conference PhD poster presentations:
GambleAware showcased research by current and recently completed GambleAware-funded PhD students at poster sessions held during the lunch hour on both days of the conference. This event was an opportunity for PhD students to discuss their research with conference attendees.

Xuemin Xu – University College London - A study of cognitive biases in gambling: The hot hand and the gamblers' fallacy.
