Treatment was associated with improvements in gambling behaviour and wellbeing for most clients and longer treatment and treatment completion led to better outcomes.

Brief interventions of three or fewer sessions were less effective and residential treatment showed some benefits over outpatient care, particularly for reducing gambling consequences.
