GambleAware has announced the appointment of two new trustees to its Board.
London, 14 September 2023: GambleAware, the leading charity commissioning gambling harm prevention and treatment services, has announced the appointment of two new trustees to its Board.
GambleAware’s Board have extensive public health and NHS backgrounds and are selected based on their expertise to support the commissioning of best practice national prevention, education, treatment and support services.
The new trustees are Sir Alan Moses and Mel Nebhrajani CB, who were selected following an extensive recruitment process. They will join the Board to help guide the charity’s work, and will bring additional extensive legal and governance experience.
Sir Alan Moses is currently a Court of Appeal Judge in the Cayman Islands and has previously been a High Court Judge, a Lord Justice of Appeal in the UK’s Court of Appeal, and also served two terms as Chair for the Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO). He has also previously served on the Council of the Royal Academy of Arts. He brings experience of understanding and implementing changes in primary and secondary legislation.
Mel Nebhrajani CB is a Director General of the Government Legal Department. She has previously been Director of Litigation of the Government Legal Department and prior to that was Legal Director at the Department for Health and Social Care. She brings experience as a Non-Executive Director of organisations in the public and not-for-profit sector, and was appointed Companion of the Bath in the 2021 New Year’s Honours List.
The two new trustees will join current Board members Baroness Kate Lampard CBE, GambleAware’s Chair of trustees; Saffron Cordery; Professor Siân Griffiths OBE; Michelle Highman; Rachel Pearce; Paul Simpson; Baroness Hilary Armstrong; Marina Gibbs; Mubin Haq; and Dr. Koravangattu Valsraj.
GambleAware’s Chair of trustees, Baroness Kate Lampard CBE, said: “I am extremely pleased to have Sir Alan and Mel joining us on the Board. They both have a high level of skills and a wide range of experience which will benefit GambleAware and help guide its strategic direction in the coming years.
